Honoring Your Pet's Memory with a Smile

Honoring Your Pet's Memory with a Smile

Losing a pet is never easy, much less losing two in quick succession.  Jimmy has been gone about 5 months now, and Cookie about a month. They gave us about a decade and a half of wonderful companionship, and while the ending is the last thing you think about when bringing home two energetic pups, days like these must eventually come.

As the grief starts to ease, it becomes easier to  look back and remember the quirky, funny, and downright lovable things that made your pet(s) one-of-a-kind.

Here are a few ways to keep those joyful memories alive:

The Great Food Heist: Whether it was stealing your sandwich off the kitchen counter or sneaking into the trash just to browse, your pet’s bold culinary escapades were legendary. Remember the hilarious look on their face when they got caught mid-crime.

The Unusual Sleeping Positions: From belly-up sprawls to sleeping halfway hanging off the dog bed— dogs seem to have a talent for making almost every nap an Olympic event.

Their Non-Verbal 'Talkative' Nature:  Whether they were begging for treats, complaining about bath time, or just having a full-on conversation with their tail, all of those sights and sounds were super intuitive and we always seemed to know just what they were thinking.

Gone but not forgotten is how I like to think about it, and greatful to have had the shared experiences.
